Respite Care for Indiana Caregivers
Caregivers need a break from their full time responsibility. A volunteer goes into the home to stay with the loved one while the caregiver gets away from the home for a couple of hours. Whether it be sitting in the park watching the blue sky or having lunch with a friend, the time away helps refresh and renew the caregiver to be able to return home to minister with love and compassion. The volunteer does not help with hands-on issues but the caregiver can rest assured their loved one is safe.
Companionship
Living alone or being confined to home can make for a long and lonely day. If you reside in Tippecanoe or Tipton County, many volunteers like to visit, share stories, and build friendships.
Transportation and Errands
Do you need a ride but cannot drive or take the public transportation system? Caregiver Companion has volunteers who will escort you to your appointments or run errands. Volunteers will run errands for you if you are unable to ride along. Our transportation services extend to locations within Tippecanoe and Tipton Counties. Unfortunately, this means we do not offer transportation service to Indianapolis.
In-Home Chores
When volunteers are available, they will assist with some light housekeeping. They may also perform simple household repairs, do laundry, or help with household organization. Some of our volunteers are also willing to help with yard work and snow removal during those icy Indiana winters.
